The first question to ask is will it fit ? The court playing dimensions are set at 23.77m long x 10.973m wide. However the fencing dimensions can vary. It is recommended not to build a court smaller than 30m x 15m, with a desirable domestic court being 33.5m x 16.2m. Click here to see an image with dimensions.
Occasionally courts of 36.5m x 18.2m are built to reach international dimensions. As the sun's path varies throughout the year there is no perfect position. Although it is often suggested a court be built "True North/South" this does not eliminate 'sun-in-eyes' problems.
In fact in Southern Australia in winter months, in the middle of the day, the sun is in the Northern hemisphere and rather low in the Northern sky. This results in the sun being a potential problem for players at the Southern end of your court.
It is far more important to design a court layout that will complement your; swimming pool, entertainment areas, views and outlooks, existing and future vegetation, gazebo, existing ground levels and landscaping, to mention a few factors.
